This stormy summer evening almost ended up being called on account of the rain, but atlas, we couldn't cancel because my client's little sister was moving out of state that next week so we had to make it happen. And woah, am I glad we did! One of my favorite things about sunset sessions is the unpredictability of the sun. That doesn't always have to mean that it's a bad thing. On this beautiful evening, yes we got wet (ha!) but then the clouds parted, the sun began to burn through at the end, and voilá - look at that gorgeous glow beyond the horizon! Below are a couple of my favorite images from this coastal portrait session. St. Augustine Beach has long been one of my very favorite places on this earth, and nights like this are the reason why.
A funny side note about this beach session image - When I'm finished with a client's photo session I'll typically save an image or two to the camera roll on my cell so that I can share on my Instagram or Facebook pages. I saved this particular image next to a coastal color palette I had saved earlier that day off of Pinterest (we're building our new house out here on St. Augustine Beach so I'm always looking for inspiration, especially color inspo for the house). So when I went to grab this image to share I noticed how strikingly similar the colors in the coastal palette were to the colors in this photograph! I mean it's glaring which design color and direction we should be going with our beach house! Apparently all I had to do to speak some ideas was go outside! It just goes to show that nothing compares to the effortless beauty of Mother Nature. Check out the coastal color palette I originally saved below! Doesn't the color palette look identical to the tones and colors in this image? Love it!
