Golden Hour Glow: A Beautiful Family of Four Visits St. Augustine
There’s something truly magical about photographing families along the coast here in St. Augustine, Florida—especially when golden hour shows up in full force, like it did during this session.
This sweet family of four was visiting from out of state, making special memories during their Florida getaway. They chose to document their trip with family photos in St. Augustine, and I couldn’t have been more honored to be the one behind the lens. As a St. Augustine photographer, I get to meet so many amazing families, and this one was no exception—so full of warmth, laughter, and that unmistakable sibling bond between their two little ones.
We met at one of my favorite beach locations, where the light wraps around the dunes in the dreamiest way just before sunset. If you’ve ever wondered when the best time is for portraits at the beach, golden hour is it—those soft, warm tones are flattering for everyone and truly elevate the entire gallery.
And let’s talk about their clothing choices for a minute. They absolutely nailed it. A classic blue and white color palette always photographs beautifully at the coast—it’s timeless, light, and complements the natural tones of the sand and sea perfectly. Think breezy dresses, linen shirts, and barefoot little toes in the sand. If you're planning your own session, it's a palette I recommend again and again for that effortlessly elegant look.
