How stunning in this mama-to-be?! I never tire of photographing pregnancy, especially outdoors on the coast. Beach maternity portraits are my favorite and this beautiful woman carries pregnancy so well. Typically for a maternity photo session at the beach I suggest clients wear something light and airy and neutral, but this Mama wanted a little glam and contrast. I'm so glad that she opted for a shimmery rust jumpsuit over a long and flowing dress (we'll save that for her upcoming newborn portrait session!).
Scroll on for a few of my favorite images from this stunning sunset maternity portrait session in St. Augustine Beach. My favorite image from this session is the first one I've featured in this blog post. I love to incorporate the landscape in all of my outdoor portrait sessions. We live in such a beautiful place here in Florida, so you've got to show it off, right? I picture this image large on a wall displayed prominently in this beautiful Mama's home some day. A large format framed portrait works well when the subject isn't looking directly at the camera. When the subject is more part of the environment vs. a standard up close portrait. And, a shimmery paper like metallic, or even printing this photograph on a medium like metal, would really help to enhance the contrast and golden hues in this pregnancy portrait.
Thank you for reading, and stay tuned for this beauty's upcoming newborn photo session!
I feel so honored, and humbled, when I receive feedback like this from a client. This is the reason I love what I do so much. It's so fulfilling to know that I've done my job.
"...the photos were phenomenal. With your direction, everything came out great. The poses looked so natural. The sunset was gorgeous and I'm so happy that we got good weather that day. Thanks again and I'm looking forward to the newborn shoot. I will keep you posted on delivery."
