First off, I am NOT a wedding photographer! I have enjoyed serving the families in St. Augustine and Jacksonville, Florida for over 12 years now and will continue to do so for as long as I have a camera in my hand. That being said, I absolute love shooting backyard weddings! The low key intimacy that comes along with a smaller group of close family and friends gives me all of the vibes of one of my usual family portait sessions, but...as a wedding!
This bride was so so beautiful, and so kind! It really made me rethink photographing weddings, well...to an extent...ha! I will always be open to hearing a bride's suggestions for her big day, and if we're a fit and it feels right, then I'm in!
For this intimate wedding ceremony at the bride's childhood home in Alachua, Florida she opted for a light and airy spring floral vibe, incorporating pale pinks and peach tones with neutral colors. She did a simple French country farmhouse family style dining table outside, and adorned the perimeter of the table with a beautiful string of bulb lights, giving this small backyard wedding a cozy vibe.
Friends and family gathered around the fire pit as the night went on, and the bride's parents and a few friends stood up to make toasts and wish the new couple well.
All in all it was a perfect ending to a stress free wedding experience, which all of us vendors always appreciate.
There were so many beautiful moments that I captured that warm spring evening, but this being a private and closely knit wedding at a private home, I've kept the sharing here simple enough to give an idea of the feel while not revealing their entire wedding. The collage at the beginning of this post is my favorite way to show of this light and airy peach and coral wedding, right?! You can totally get the feel the bride was going for, and I was honored to be a part of such a special day.
Congratulations J+ M! <3
