It was a bittersweet last session for these baby plan members, but I have absolutely loved photographing this sweet family and their first-born's first year milestones.
For our last baby milestone together, we wanted to switch it up a bit and go for a garden type of vibe - flowers and roses giving us that summer look. We documented the arrival of their baby with an in-home newborn session, so we took this final session in their baby plan as an opportunity to opt outside and capture their sweet babe in the gardens. Yes, it was a hot afternoon (as most Florida mornings are here) but we had so much fun hanging in the gardens, and much to my surprise, the roses were still blooming!
The rain kept rescheduling this session many times, but I'm so glad we waited because the sun peeked out this time, giving us all of that late afternoon glow we were holding out for. Scroll on to view a few of my favorites from this beautiful summer family portrait session at Washington Oaks Gardens and State Park.
This quote resonated with me when I read it because like a garden, like fashion, like art in and of itself, a portrait session is an expression. An expression and a work of art, isn't it? A photograph too is "another form of creating and playing with colors". In these portraits, the beautiful greens in the plants all around, the delicate touch of the blooming roses in the rose garden, the fountain and the grounds...creation is all around - whether it be God's or ours. And document a family in that setting...pure magic. There are few things in this world more beautiful and I feel so lucky to be able to call this craft my job.
